Dear McKinley 2nd Grade Families,

It’s that time of year again… It’s the beginning of another school year! New pencils, new shoes… new pencil shoes? That’s right, even new pencil shoes, at least for this 2^nd grade teacher. Each new school year is a fresh start, full of excitement and energy for another great year. Mr. Gomez and I are jazzed to make up the 2nd grade team; and, we've got great plans stirring for our students and families.

This year, our 2^nd graders will be learning about an array of topics, including: Laws and Agreements, Our Rockin’ Earth, Producers & Consumers, Solids & Liquids, Families, and Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems. Students will explore these topics through a variety of modes, including art, technology, literacy, hands-on experiments, songs, field trips, guest speakers, and more! Families are invited to join us in our Back to School Night, Gallery Walks, field trips, and Open House. You're also encouraged to engage with your children in School to Home collaboration assignments.
