At McKinley School our parents are meeting every Tuesday from 8:15-9:45 am to learn English.

The parents in the class are using the Latino Literacy Curriculum to learn literacy and parenting skills.

The topic of discussion is centered around the central theme of the literature that is being utilized. 

The extension of lessons are parents reading to their own children at home the books, that are being read in class, in Spanish and English.

Our parents are learning about effective reading and literacy strategies to use with their own children.

This year our parents will celebrate Dia de Los Ninos and Cinco de Mayo with our students and staff by sharing about the food, traditions, and culture of the region of Mexico that they are from.

Our parents are one way that we are celebrating COMMUNITY at McKinley.
