This month our first graders were very excited to be able to visit Villa Montalvo! Villa Montalvo is a 1912 Mediterranean-style chateau with beautiful gardens, fountains and a historic theater on the grounds. After having lunch on the lawn, we were able to explore the trails, architecture and artwork around the property. The highlight of the day was watching a production in the carriage theater by the Chinyakare Ensemble, a Zimbabwean song and dance group. One of our students was even invited on stage to help play some of the instruments! We ended the day dancing as a group and smiles all around. Can't wait for our next first grade adventure!
