Dear McKinley Families,
Welcome back to in-person learning at our wonderful school! This past year and a half of school closures has been deeply challenging for students, families, and teachers. McKinley staff are excited to support your student in the classroom, and will do everything we can to support a safe, welcoming, and successful learning environment.
Your students' safety will always be our first priority on campus. Our school is working closely with our district, the Santa Clara County Office of Education, and the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health to follow health and safety protocols to minimize the risk of transmitting COVID. We also will work with you, students' parents and guardians, to have clear communication and to share important information about students' health that will help keep our whole community safe. I want to encourage all of you to get your vaccines if you have not yet, and to get your family members vaccinated when they are eligible. Our school will communicate vaccination events and information as it becomes available.
As students return in person, McKinley staff will be focusing on reconnecting with them and building strong relationships across our campus. We recognize that students may have a range of feelings about returning to school, and our staff will be here to listen and respond appropriately. McKinley staff will also be determining what the next steps for learning are for each of our students. Our goal is that every student grows more than a year in their reading and math, and we look forward helping your student recognize their growth and celebrating their success.
Thank you all for your collaboration and trust as we work together to promote your students' learning and wellbeing. Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you want to share.
All my best,
