Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing with news to share with you – the families and community of McKinley – regarding my decision to accept an administrative position at the Santa Clara County Office of Education starting in October.
It is with a combination of sadness and excitement that I am informing the school community of my transition to a new professional opportunity. I want to thank each and every one of you for all your support, and for entrusting me with your children for the past ten years. I am honored and feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to be part of the McKinley community. I have so many wonderful memories of my time at McKinley and I am sad to say goodbye. During my time here, I have fostered relationships with many of you and I will cherish the memories and friendships I’ve made during my time. McKinley has been a very special place for me and I will miss everyone.
My last day as your principal will be October 9, 2020 and Mr. Daniel Dennedy Frank will be taking over as Interim Principal on October 19, 2020. Mr. Dennedy-Frank has been serving as the Assistant Principal at Shirakawa Elementary School.
Although it’s hard to say goodbye to the parents and adults, the hardest part of leaving is saying goodbye to the children. I have grown so attached to them over the last ten years. I have loved watching them grow up into amazing young people. I treasure my memories of them all.
Please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation as I transition to a new position that will continue to allow me to impact schools and the lives of students in the classroom.
Dr. Julie Aguirre
